Definition of Reusability:

    The extent to which a program (or its parts) can be reused in other applications.

Advantages:

  • Reusable code is of higher quality (reliable, fault tolerant, co-existant, usable, etc.)
  • Can reduce coding efforts for its owners and even increase profits

Disadvantages:

  • More time and effort to create
  • Ownership hassles
