If you are a real person sending me an individually composed email
message, it is my intention to respond to you within a week (except
late December and a few weeks in the summer).
Due to the large number of spam emails I receive, 
I have spam filtering set at a pretty aggressive level.
Thus, I may not receive your message.

I typically don't respond to potential grad students
sending to many possible supervisors, unless I see a 
potential match.

If you don't get a reply from me within a week, 
please send your message again using a plain ASCII message 
with no attachments, not even HTML.  Once we make contact
I can add you to my "white" list and then you can send
me other information, including attachments.
