Re: [lofo List] 100-mile labelling
Hi;
I wonder whether it might be better for producers (when
they are labelling products) to clearly indicate where they
are located. Then only a map on the wall at the grocer's
(with concentric circles centered on the grocer's location
for 100 and others) is needed to figure out the distance
travelled. Would the job of extra labelling be welcomed
by the grocers?
Best regards,
Daryl

Subject: [lofo List] 100-mile labelling
Hello,
I'm the project coordinator at EcoLiving, Brett Dolter. I read the
article on the 100-mile diet and think it is a wonderful way to get
people thinking about where their food comes from. Perhaps grocery
stores like Eat Healthy Foods and Nature's Best could be interested
in creating a labelling system for food produced within a 100-mile
radius of Regina. It would be kind of like Fair-trade or Organic
labelling except would highlight a specific locale e.g. 100-mile
Regina SK.
Take care,
Brett
