I regret not being able to attend that talk either. I hope someone will report
back to us about it.
If it turns out that there are a number of people interested in artisanal
cheese production in Saskatchewan, maybe we could approach the Milk Marketing
Board with a proposal for quote exemption for small herds for specialty cheese
production. I know that for egg and chicken production there is a threshold
before you need to get quota in Saskatchewan. I don't see why we couldn't make
a case for a similar opening for small scale cheese producers.
