The South Central Food Network will be helping to host the Food
Secure Saskatchewan Conference October 2nd & 3rd , 2009. As part of
this conference, we will be holding a youth event on October 2nd.
This will be held at the Moose Jaw Public Library. Students will
spend the morning participating in the Thought about Food workshop.
Lunch will be provided on-site. The afternoon will consist of a
guided discussion about food security and how students can be
involved in food security. We would like some of the students to
briefly present their ideas to the larger conference on the Saturday.
We are hoping that youth from your region would be interested in
attending the youth portion of the conference and learning more
about food security. There is a maximum registration of twenty
students. We will be charging $10 per student. Registration for
the Youth portion of the conference will be available on line with
the regular registration.
We are interested in knowing what, if any, projects students in your
area are doing around food security. Could you send this
information as quickly as possible so that we can compile a list of
youth projects before the conference.
For further information please contact Wendy at Connecting as
Neighbours at 691-5226.
