Details about the game

So what's so great about this 'WoW' game anyways? How good could one game possibly be to entice several million subscribers to play roughly $15.00 a month just to play? Well the answer is: pretty damn good! The reviews don't lie, and this game has obtained quite the reputation. That's a link to the game's release day review. Very impressive by all means. And since then the game has evolved significantly with two massive expansions, each adding hundreds of hours of gameplay. That's right, hundreds! In WoW, one creates a (somewhat) unique character, under one of two factions, The Alliance , and The Horde . These are the two opposing factions which were created due to a great war. Each faction has 4 unique races to play, and many class to choose from. Most of the races start in varying cities scattered about a massive, and beautiful world. Depending on where you start, your beginning quests and plot vary, making playing multiple characters somewhat rewarding. The world is so vast, it would take many hours of traveling if one would try to walk from one end to the other. So what does one do in this giant world? Although most of your time will be spent either walking to or from a quest objective, or fighting an enemy, the game is quite enthralling. Each quest, and battle kill rewards your character with experience points, and when enough are required, your character levels up. Your hero becomes stronger, and learns new abilites, and is ready to take on increasingly tougher challenges. Beginning quests are as mundane as gathering flowers or killing pigs and pests. But as you increase in power, amazing challenges will become within grasp. You will be send on the back of a dragon to fight in the sky against other dragons, or take part in a secret mission to take down a powerful troll lord. There is literally, and easily hundreds, or several thousand hours of gameplay to be had if you really get interested. These sheer lengths of time potentially dropped into the game is just the beginning of why I believe WoW is an addictive game.
