One problem with posting your email address on your web pages, is that automated web 'bots' search web pages looking for email addresses to put on junk mail lists. So next thing you know, you're getting email about stock tips or 'vitamins' or who knows what else. Lately I actually get more junk email than real email.

One solution is not to put your actual address, but something similar to your address that has to be altered manually to work. It's a bit inconvenient for the people emailing you, but what can you do.
