CS 203 Examinations

Winter 2010

Notices

·         All exams are “closed book,” with no additional material permitted. You will be allowed the use of nonprogrammable calculators, although they are not needed. Coats, books, pencil cases, and other accessories should be left at the front of the room during exam periods.

·         If you are in doubt about the meaning of an exam question, state your assumptions and answer to the best of your ability. No additional info will be provided during the examination.

·         Keep your returned midterm. Sometimes grades get recorded incorrectly. You will have to show midterm with the correct marks to get such problems resolved.

 

Midterm

·         Thursday, March 4, 2010, 4:00-4:50 pm; 50 minutes; CL420

·         50 minutes, 50 marks

·         closed book

·         covers first half of the course, up to the end of threads, part way through the lecture of February 23.

·         Also covers Assignments 1 – 4.

 

Final Examination

·         April 20, 2010, 2:00-5:00 pm; Place: CL 420

·         3 hours (180 minutes), 180 marks

·         closed book

·         Java information will be provided (sample copy available on the website)

·         Exam will consist of 10 pages, each worth 20 marks.  You will do any 9 pages and put an X through the page that you do not want marked.  If no page is X’d, then the first 9 pages will be marked.  Each page may have several questions,

·         Also covers Assignments 1 – 6 with less emphasis on Assignment 7.

·         The exam covers complete course, with more emphasis on the second part of the course

·         Sample exam questions are available on the course website.  These are examples of questions that I might write.  I think it would be useful for you to practice by doing these questions.  In general, these questions will not appear on the exam.
