My name is which is romanized as Yao JingTao according to Hanyu Pinying. `Yao' is my surname (last name) and `JingTao' is my given (first) name. As I do not want to confuse you about the meaning of last and first, my name is appeared as JingTao Yao , Jingtao Yao or J. T. Yao in my publications. You can call me JingTao, JT or Dr. Yao.

I was born in Taiyuan, China, a dragon city with 2,500 years history. I'm now living in Regina, Canada, a new city celebrated her 100th birthday in 2003. I also lived and worked in Xian, China, Singapore and Palmerston North, New Zealand.
